Iconography

Built for hunters: every species, state, and scouting tool, drawn in one consistent style and served from our Font Awesome kit.

Clear before clever

  • Pair with a label

    Icons support words, they don’t replace them. Standalone icons need an accessible label.

  • Size on the grid

    Use 16, 20, 24, or 32px. Match the icon to the cap height of adjacent text.

  • Species are specific

    Use the exact species or sex icon (elk-cow, deer-mule-antlerless) the content refers to.

  • Color with tokens

    Icons inherit text color. Use content-* tokens; orange only for the single primary action.

Using icons in code

The kit is already loaded in gohunt-frontend. Icons inherit color and size from their text.
// gohunt-frontend
import Icon from '~/components/ui/Icon'

<Icon name="fa-elk" className="text-content-secondary text-2xl" title="Elk" />

// anywhere else
<script src="https://kit.fontawesome.com/ff8b9588f5.js" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>
